Allemannsretten (in Norwegian), Allemansrätten (in Sweddish) or Jokamiehenoikeus (in Finnish) is everyman's right, also called the freedom to roam, the right to roam or the right of public access to the wilderness. In Northern Europe, especially in those Nordic countries, Allemannsretten is a basic, very old right. If you leave no trace, you have the right to access the land, either public or privately owned.
As you see, here in Southern Portugal there is no allemannsretten anymore. Since a few years ago, you see more and more fences along private lands. In this very location, along the N10 road, between Marateca and Pegões, there was no fences a few years ago. But now you've got this sad sight.
Allemannsretten (em norueguês), Allemansrätten (em sueco) ou Jokamiehenoikeus (em finlandês) é um antigo direito de livre acesso às terras, sejam públicas ou privadas, desde que não sejam deixados vestígios da passagem. Como se vê, no sul de Portugal cada vez há menos allemannsretten. De há uns anos para cá, cada vez vêem-se mais terras cercadas, muitas vezes com arame farpado. É o caso desta zona junto à estrada nacional N10, entre a Marateca e Pegões. Mais um triste sinal da cada vez maior diferença entre ricos (proprietários) e pobres (o comum dos mortais).
